PS3 vs Xbox 360: The Controller

Let it be said that the PS3's and Xbox 360's respective controllers are awfully similar, and keeping that in mind, I'm comparing them.
Mind you I don't give a crap about the Dual Shock 3...

Grip:
Both feel good and comfortable, but the 360's feels kinda bigger and actually contours to your hand.

Analog sticks:
In feel and placement... the 360's is very clearly the better of the two. The 36o controller's left stick is placed in a better position for functional FPSing.

D-pad:
PS3's is the better, no question. The 360's blows ass.

Face buttons:
This is a matter of preference, do you like the softer buttons (PS3) or the harder buttons (X360)?

Shoulder buttons:
I largely dislike the bumper buttons on the 360, except for when reloading in Halo 3 and Gears of War. So I rate the PS3's bumper buttons (L1 and R1) higher.
The triggers are another story. The PS3's triggers (L2 and R2) suck. The 360's are far superior.

Power:
360's sucks because it requires a battery pack (and batteries if you don't have a rechargeable pack, and a USB charging cable or a charging socket). Suck it, Microsoft!
PS3's has its battery built in and is chargeable via mini USB to USB plug. Bravo Sony!

But... overall, the 360's controller is more functionally sound, but the PS3's is the better value.
Now I'll leave it up to you...

So I was flippin' thru the channels and found the "Double Dragon" movie...

... and I was amazed at how the production sets and values just rival those of the Power Rangers TV shows.

The Transformers SCORE, not soundtrack...

... is excellent. I couldn't give a rat's ass about all the different music by whoever artists, but Steve Jablonsky's score is most excellent.

Hypotheses Biological

I hypothesize that a certain degree of development is random. Penetrance accounts for the fact that identical genetic information between a plural will often result in different phenotypes. If this is so, then the only way to get 'desired' characteristics is to repeatedly express the same template in multiple subjects, separating those that are desired.

I also hypothesize that the cure to cancer is within the body itself. I take for example, the repair of thymine dimer mutations within DNA.
From Wikipedia: " Excision repair enzymes and the DNA repair system can often recognize and repair this type of damage by the large kink in the DNA that it causes. In many organisms (excluding placental mammals such as humans), DNA photolyases can repair the damage directly by cleaving the dimer.
Unrepaired or mis-repaired thymine dimers and the resultant mutations can contribute to the development of skin cancers."

The body does it itself. As such mutations can cause cancer, then hypothetically, the cure for cancer can be found within the body itself. If something is not right, the body's own machinery must be able to fix it. If not, I am 100% positive that enzymes can be engineered to hunt down specific mutations to correct. However, as there are many types of mutations, it will conceivably take a while to find ways, enzymatic or otherwise, to fix the different mutations in DNA. However, as oncogenes are often, if not always, the epicenter from which cancer begins, those are the points where we need to be looking.

Jeeeeeeeebus Superman...

Let's talk about an influx of Superman.
In the past few weeks, I've seen a bunch of different ANIMATED versions of Superman on TV and DVD.
But let's start from the top...














Superman in Superman: The Animated Series (The best in my opinion)

Pretty awesome, but I don't like them cheekbones











The Supermen in Legion of Superheroes

I dunno what to make of the left. It's kinda love/hate... (He's a fighting-bred clone)

The one on the right is supposed to be a younger version of the man, which I guess works. Head's a little big, but in other scenes I've seen, the body's too big.











And finally, the new Superman version that debuted in The Batman.
Kinda pretty boy looking. The curl's kinda big, and I don't like the color scheme (in the daytime scenes too), but I DO kinda like how the cape drapes on his shoulders. And the S, is very consistently drawn very well. I like.

Gettin' back to where I used to be...

My windowsill is becoming a fruit fly and gnat graveyard...

My roommate's cool, but he leaves the windows open. And uninvited flies invite themselves in...

Batman: The Animated Series: Original versus Redesign

I must say that the original series was dynamic and colorful, but sometimes, Batman just seemed fat.

Though I DO like the redesigns of many of the characters in the redesigned series, including Batman himself, I find myself sometimes missing the blue on Batman. But overall, the redesign of Batman is better with no yellow.

I like the stylistic choices made for the new Robin, the young Tim Drake, though the Robin design in the original series will always be a classic.

Other redesigned characters, like Baby Doll, aren't nearly as flamboyant, dynamic, or maniacal as she was in the original series. Killer Croc's redesign, however, looks way more kickass than the original. Catwoman's redesign sucks. The original was way sexier. The Joker looked less menacing in the redesign, but both are great, the old version being really scary, and the redesign being funnily and pleasantly comedic. It is of note that Joker underwent a third redesign, used in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Justice League, and it was downright SCARY AS HELL.

The redesign looks just sterile sometimes though, kinda plain. On the other hand, it looks more consistent than the original.

On the writing side, both had some of the most fantastic stories written...

With some reorganizing, this rant could probably have been paragraphed better, but I won't bother. This is a blog.

... and I must say that it's going to be a damn expensive movie.
